Vacation Update

Vacation is so nice. We just love sitting around and doing nothing. Our friend Amanda came and stayed with us for the first couple of days but is now gone. We have also moved from the townhouse to the condo which is sitting right on the beach. It is so nice to walk out to the pool and to the beach right from our ground room floor.

Don't feel like typing much so here are some pictures.

HOPE

Last night at Ewing Road we hosted Dave Ramsey's Town Hall for Hope meeting. First off I would like to thank everyone for coming despite the bad rain and hail storms in the area. I have no doubt that stopped many people from coming out. But that was their loss.

Together we had about 35 people gathered together to hear the message of hope. We learned what we already knew deep inside of us, that hope comes from us and from God. One thing I've learned from Dave and God over the years is being prepared and having your hopes and joy rooted in the right things is the key. Then and only then can you make active decisions instead of reactive ones. Happening to something instead of stuff happening to you.

No longer does anyone need to make decisions based on fear.

I pray that everyone attended this meeting got energized. I pray that they tell others about what they learned and most importantly I pray they saw how Dave takes every opportunity to share the gospel message. He is proud of his God and doesn't let the fear of being prosecuted or ridiculed for it get in his way.

If you missed the meeting you can go to www.townhallforhope.com and watch the video there and get much of the information he spoke about too.

Softball

Well, we had a double header tonight. I'm just getting home and it's nearly 11pm. We had to play the first game with just 8 people so needless to say, we got beat pretty badly. Still had fun and had a couple innings where we didn't give up any runs.

Game 2 was much better. We actually won this game something like 21-10. My performance over the two games was average at best. I hate knowing I can do something and then not performing. Missy pulled her calf muscle at third base. I'm beginning to think that position is cursed. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow.

I also started the new life circle class at church today. I'm really going to like this study. It's a true bible study. Not what someone else says or thinks but really what the bible says. I'm also trying to write down more of my thoughts which has seemed to help out during the study. You can always give a 2 word answer but I want to go deeper than that.

Anyway, off to bed.

Ewing Road

So like I promised, here are some pictures with my new lens adapter. It's hard to appreciate the wide angle as much in these photos but its nice. I took some other type of pictures but didn't have time to really show off the adapter.

I'm sure I'll play with it more and get some good shots when we go to Florida soon.

Anyway, here's a sample. More are on my Picasa page. Just click on one of them to get there.

Quite bored...

Well, I'm at church testing the stream for the TownHallforHope.com live meeting next week and things aren't going well. The stream isn't working too well so I guess it's a good thing they are testing it ahead of time.
As for me, alone in our church for 3 hours while the same video stream repeats over and over is not my idea of fun. I am so bored.

I did get a new lens magnification adapter for my birthday from Jess. It is a 0.45x so I can get some pretty nice wide angle shots. I'll have to upload them when I get home. I need to get a 58mm to 52mm adapter so I can put it on my new 50mm fixed lens.

Anyway, just killing time...

Atlanta Braves

I'm glad to see the Braves are off to such a good start. I know it's really early but they look pretty solid other than the occasional burp by the bullpen. Hitting has been great this year.
Brian McCann and Matt Diaz both lost over 20 lbs and look good. Diaz still isn't a great fielder though.
I'm really happy with the people on the team. The only guy that annoys me is Kelly Johnson. The guy can't field worth a lick. He must be one of the worst 2nd basemen in the majors. At least he can hit, for now. Don't forget he hit around .240 the entire first half of the year last year so he is capable of being terrible.

Let's hope we can get 2 out of 3 from the Marlins starting tonight. That would really cap off this year's great start.
